This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) sets out how the network and services operated by FlinxLayer LLC (trading as FlinxLayer) may and may not be used. It protects our customers, our network and the wider internet. The AUP forms part of your agreement with us, and we take breaches seriously.
1. Purpose
FlinxLayer runs its own routed IP network on address space registered to us under RIPE LIR application โ in progress, announced from autonomous system AS{ASN โ pending allocation}. Keeping that address space clean and trusted benefits every customer. This policy explains what responsible use looks like and how we deal with abuse.
2. Who this applies to
This policy applies to everyone who uses our network or services โ account holders, anyone they allow to use their connection, and any device or system connected through us. You are responsible for all activity over your connection, whether by you or anyone else using it.
3. Prohibited activities
You must not use the service to do, attempt or facilitate any of the following:
- Illegal content or activity โ store, send or make available anything unlawful, or use the service to break the law.
- Child sexual abuse material โ we operate zero tolerance. Any such material is reported to the relevant authorities and the account is terminated immediately.
- Network abuse and intrusion โ unauthorised access or attempts to access systems, port scanning, vulnerability probing, password cracking or other hacking activity.
- Denial-of-service โ launching, participating in or amplifying DoS or DDoS attacks, or any activity that degrades the network for others.
- Spam and unsolicited commercial email (UCE) โ sending bulk unsolicited messages, or operating open relays, open proxies or open resolvers that enable abuse.
- Malware โ distributing viruses, worms, ransomware, botnet command-and-control or any malicious code.
- Intellectual-property and copyright infringement โ sharing or distributing content you have no right to.
- Fraud and impersonation โ phishing, identity theft, IP-address or header spoofing, or impersonating others.
- Abuse of resources โ circumventing access controls, reselling the service without authorisation, or activity that interferes with the network's operation.
4. Your connection and equipment
You are responsible for securing your own equipment and connection โ keeping software updated, using strong credentials, and not running misconfigured services (such as open relays or proxies) that others can abuse. If your device is compromised and is causing harm, we may need to act under this policy even though you did not intend it.
5. Consequences of breach
Where we identify a breach we may, depending on severity and with notice where practical: warn you, rate-limit or throttle the offending traffic, filter or block specific traffic, suspend the service, or terminate the agreement. Serious or malicious activity โ particularly attacks on others, or illegal content โ may lead to immediate suspension without prior notice, and to referral to law enforcement.
6. Reporting abuse
If you believe traffic, content or activity originating from our network is abusive, report it to our abuse desk. We maintain a registered abuse contact for our address space and monitor it 24/7.
Abuse contact: abuse@flinxlayer.com
To help us act quickly, please include:
- The offending IP address(es) and, where relevant, port and protocol.
- Accurate timestamps with the time zone or in UTC.
- A short description of the activity, and any supporting logs or headers (with full, unedited email headers for spam reports).
- Your own contact details so we can follow up.
7. Our response
We aim to acknowledge abuse reports promptly, investigate without undue delay, and act on confirmed malicious traffic quickly โ typically within 24 hours of confirmation, and faster for active attacks or illegal content. We will keep a reporter informed where appropriate, while respecting the privacy and due-process rights of the parties involved.
8. Cooperation with law enforcement and other networks
As a RIPE LIR application โ in progress, we maintain accurate registry and abuse records for our address space and handle reports concerning prefixes announced from AS{ASN โ pending allocation}. We cooperate with law enforcement on lawful, properly authorised requests, and we work constructively with other network operators, CERTs and abuse teams to investigate and shut down malicious traffic. We may share the minimum information necessary to stop abuse, in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this AUP to reflect new threats, technologies or legal requirements. The current version always governs your use of the service; material changes will be notified in line with our Terms & Conditions.
